Sinquefield Cup: Aronian’s first opponent is Nakamura

Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian received the first seed at the Sinquefield Cup chess tournament which will be held in Saint Louis, USA.

On Wednesday’s Round 1, Aronian—who is second in the World Chess Federation (FIDE) rankings and who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia—will face GM Hikaru Nakamura (USA).

The tournament winner will receive $100,000.
