Nanjing 2014: Armenia’s Matevosyan and Hovsepyan will wrestle for bronze

The freestyle wrestlers are on the mats Wednesday, the last day of competitions at the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games which are wrapping up in Nanjing, China.

Vaghinak Matevosyan (Armenia) lost to the Kazakh wrestler in the Men’s 54kg competition, but he will wrestle for the bronze medal.

In the third-place match, the Armenian athlete will face Ebrahim Al-Shebami (Yemen).

Sargis Hovsepyan (Armenia), on the other hand, had lost to the Japanese wrestler in his first match in the Men’s 76kg competition. But later, he received the opportunity to fight for the bronze medal. 

The Armenian athlete will enter the mat against Carlos Arturo Mendez (Colombia) for the bronze. 

In the current overall medal standings, Armenia shares 25th and 26th spots with Kenya, and with five medals.
