Armenia national football squad manager Bernard Challandes also has taken the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.“I could not refuse my pupils’ challenge and not to participate in this activity. But I know that there are a large number of patients in Armenia who are also diagnosed with the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [ALS], and I’m also ready to give some financial assistance. I urge the people taking part in this activity to remember that, as well. “And I transfer the [ALS Ice Bucket] Challenge to our [national] team captain [and Dynamo Moscow (Russia) goalkeeper] Roman Berezovsky, and my assistant Artur Petrosyan,” the Football Federation of Armenia Facebook account quoted Challandes as saying.

The objective of the Ice Bucket Challenge, which has gone viral throughout social media and has become very popular especially among celebrities, is to raise awareness toward amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The challenge dares nominated participants to have a bucket of ice water poured on their head. One common stipulation gives 24 hours from the time they are nominated to complete the dare; otherwise, the participant is asked to donate money to charity.
