Armenian chess masters compete in France and Spain

YEREVAN. – Young Armenian International Master (IM) Gary Giroyan (France) scored 6 points out of 9 and took tenth place, from among 52 participants, at the annual chess festival in Cannes, France. Giroyan was only half a point behind the winner, Grandmaster (GM) Alexandr Fier (Brazil). 

Separately, GM Karen Grigoryan (Armenia) scored 2.5 points after three rounds at the open that is held in Sitges, Spain. GM Karen Movsziszian (Armenia) has 2 points, and the current leader with 3 points is IM Ernesto Gomez (Cuba), Armchess reported.
