Brazilian football player Edmar, who was granted Ukrainian citizenship in 2011, mistakenly received a military draft notice from the Ukrainian army. He will not serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, informed ITAR-TASS news agency of Russia. In 2008, the FC Metalist Kharkiv player married Ukrainian Tetiana Halovsky and also adopted his wife’s surname and became Edmar Halovskyi de Lacerda. After receiving Ukrainian citizenship, Edmar made nine appearances for the Ukraine national football squad and scored one goal. The Metalist boss confirmed that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense had sent a military draft notice to Edmar, but the mistake was due to the surname.
