European Women’s Championship: Armenia’s Danielian, Mkrtchian, Galojan and Kursova win first matches

The European Women’s Individual Chess Championship is held from July 6 to 17 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Armenia national chess team members GM Elina Danielian, and WGMs Lilit Mkrtchian, Lilit Galojan, and Maria Kursova have started their campaign in the tournament with wins, apiece. Armenia’s Shushanna Sargsyan, on the other hand, was defeated in the first round.

This tournament will be the top Armenian female chess masters’ last competition before the 41st World Chess Olympiad 2014, which will kick off on August 2 in Tromsø, Norway.
