2014 World Cup: Mexico to face Netherlands in 1/8 finals

The Mexican national football squad defeated Croatia by a score of 3-1 in their third and final group-stage match in the 2014 FIFA World Cup hosted by Brazil.  

As a result, Mexico became second in Group A, since Brazil went ahead of them on goal difference. Both teams have tallied 7 points, each.  Mexico have passed the World Cup group phase for the sixth consecutive championship.  

In the 1/8 finals, the Mexicans will go against the Netherlands, who finished atop Group B.
