Van Basten to head AZ Alkmaa

Dutch football legend Marco van Basten will take helm at AZ Alkmaar at the end of the current season, the club official website reported.

Van Basten will replace Dick Advocaat as manager of the Dutch club.

The 49-year-old specialist’s contract with AZ Alkmaar is expected to run for two years.

Prior to this deal, Marco van Basten was coaching SC Heerenveen in the Dutch top league, the Eredivisie, since 2012. From 2004 to 2008, he managed the Holland national squad.
