Gregorio Pérez agrees to head Armenia national squad

Uruguayan manager Gregorio Pérez, 65, has agreed to head the national football team of Armenia.  

Pérez and the Football Federation of Armenia representatives negotiated in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and they came to an agreement.    

Noray Nakis, Chairman of Club Deportivo Armenio of Argentina, told the above-said to NEWS.am Sport.

“We offered him to head the Armenia national football team and he gladly agreed. We told him that he also will have to work with the youth national teams [of Armenia]. At present, we await the word of the president of the Football Federation of Armenia,” Nakis added.     

José Enrique de los Santos and Daniel Curbelo will be Pérez’s assistants.   

After retiring from football, Gregorio Pérez started his managing career in1984. Under his headship, Club Atlético Peñarol were crowned Uruguayan Primera División champions between 1993 and 1997. Under Pérez’s management, Club Libertad became Paraguayan Primera División champions in 2010. The Uruguayan specialist has also worked with Italian and Argentinean clubs.
