Kazan 2013: Armenia’s Julfalakyan to wrestle for bronze medal

London Olympics bronze-medalist Artur Aleksanyan (96 kg), who represents Armenia, defeated Mahdi Alyarifeyzabadi (Iran) in the Greco-Roman wrestling competition at the 27th World University Games being held in Kazan, Russia.    

Aleksanyan defeated his opponent by a score of 3-1 in the semifinals, and he advanced to the final, where he will face Nikita Melnikov (Russia).   

Separately, in the consolation match, Armenia’s Olympic silver medalist Arsen Julfalakyan (74 kg) defeated Alexander Demyanovich (Belarus) by a score of 3-0. If Julfalakyan defeats Elvin Mursaliev (Azerbaijan), the Armenian athlete will win a bronze medal.
