Olympic torch relay launches on May 10
17:07 26 March, 2012The relay of the Olympic torch for the XXX London Olympics will launch on May 10 in Greece to pass over 3000 km before delivering it to the UK National Olympic Committee (NOC).
500 torchbearers will participate in the relay to last for 8 days. They will run for 2,900 km across 43 cities of the continent and the Island Crete and will carry the torch to the Panathinaikos stadium in Athens on May 17. Here the torch will be handed over to the London NOC, official website of the Olympic Movement quotes the president of the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) Spyros Kapralos.
