World No. 15 Karen Khachanov started with a victory at the ATP-500 tournament in Dubai.

Khachanov defeated Frenchman Luca Van Assche 6:2, 6:3. The match lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Karen Khachanov's opponent will be Czech Jiri Lehecka.

The prize fund of the tournament in Dubai is $2.9 million.
