12 chess players of Armenia to start campaign at world championship

Twelve chess players from Armenia on Tuesday will start their “battle” in the FIDE 2023 World Rapid and Blitz Championships in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

The 16th world chess champion and leader of the current world ranking, Magnus Carlsen (Norway), as well as former leader of the Armenian national team, Levon Aronian (USA) will also participate in the championships.

The prize fund of this competition is $60 thousand.
