Pyunik: Public opinion was once again cynically ignored

16:08   23 December, 2023

Armenian championship leader Pyunik has issued a statement.

"Friends, we would like to thank you for sharing your worries about the future of Armenian soccer in these last weeks of the passing year. You asked questions, looked into all the facts of violations by the current leadership of the Federation, made your statements and simply were not indifferent.

We are glad that as a result we have hope in the person of Aras Ozbilis, who was supported not only by the majority of the soccer community, but also by many players of the Armenian national team, as well as the most famous Armenian athletes in the world, such as Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Karen Khachanov and Levon Aronian - people who know firsthand how important a professional approach and a strong, responsible Federation are for the country!

Unfortunately, everything was decided in advance. The elections turned into a formal struggle for the chair. The outcome of the vote did not come as a surprise to us.

The results of the work, as well as the opinion of the public, were once again cynically ignored!

But these past weeks have given us confidence that together we can influence our future and put Armenian soccer back on the path of development and progress.

In any case, we will continue to fight for the purity and prosperity of the most favorite sport in our country. And we will do our best on and off the pitch to bring Armenian soccer back to a decent level!

Football unites people all over the world and we are part of this big family.

Sincerely, FC Pyunik.
