Mkhitaryan thanked CNN for publishing his call to prevent ethnic cleansing of Armenians in Artsakh

Former captain of the Armenian national team, Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan in social networks thanked the American TV channel CNN for covering the tragedy taking place in Artsakh and publishing his call. 

“Thank you CNN for highlighting the tragedy that is currently unfolding in Nagorno Karabakh.

People are experiencing a Genocide today in 2023 and they desperately need our help," he wrote on his Facebook page. 

Mkhitaryan earlier wrote that his “heart breaks as I learn about the stories of trauma, loss, and severe violations of human rights of thousands of Armenian families who are being forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh and flee for Armenia in a mass exodus.” He also called for international leaders “to stand up against ethnic cleansing and use all possible political tools to put an end to military actions in the region.”
