US Open: Djokovic wins title

World No. 2 Novak Djokovic won the Men’s Singles title at the US Open that ended in New York.

In the final, the Serbian tennis star defeated the World No. 3 Daniil Medvedev (Russia) in three sets—6:3, 7:6 (7:5), 6:3. The match lasted 3 hours and 17 minutes.

Wit this win, Djokovic will receive 2,000 ranking points, $3 million, and regain the top spot in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world rankings, overtaking Carlos Alcaraz (Spain).

Djokovic won the US Open for the fourth time, repeating his respective success in 2011, 2015, and 2018.

Also, Novak Djokovic became the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
