Cincinnati Masters: World No. 1 reaches quarterfinals

World number one Daniil Medvedev has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Masters being held in the US.

The Russian tennis star defeated Denis Shapovalov (Canada) in two sets—7:5, 7:5—in the Round of 16 of this tournament. The match lasted 1 hour and 46 minutes.

Medvedev's opponent in the quarterfinals will be Taylor Fritz (US), who beat Andrey Rublev (Russia) in their Round of 16 clash.
