Nepal to organize first Asian Olympiad for LGBT
18:08 19 March, 2012Nepal plans to organize Asia’s first ever multi-sport games for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, organizers said on Monday.
The two-week event at the national football stadium and other venues around Kathmandu will feature track and field, volleyball, football, martial arts and tennis.
The aim of Blue Diamond National Sport Competition 2012 is to mainstream LGBT into the larger society, said one of the organizers, AFP reports .
The Olympiad, organized by Nepal and scheduled for this September, will be the first in Asia.
