Mourinho: It is time for Mkhitaryan to go back to levels we know he can achieve

During his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United’s Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Europa League Group-stage match against Fenerbahçe S.K. (Istanbul, Turkey), English club’s manager José Mourinho reflected also on Armenia national squad captain and Man United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has not yet returned to the pitch after his injury.

“Mkhitaryan was injured, he is not injured any more and is training without any limitations,” the ManchesterEveningNews quoted Mourinho as saying. “I cannot confirm if he will play tomorrow but he is fit and it is time for him to go back to the levels we know he can achieve.”

Manchester United and Fenerbahçe will lock horns on Thursday, and the kick-off is scheduled for 11:05pm, Armenia Standard Time.

The 27-year-old Armenia international has been out of action since September 10, when his thigh injury recurred during Manchester United’s English Premier League derby against Manchester City.
