Newly crowned Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Euro 2016 champions Portugal captain and FC Real Madrid (Spain) forward Cristiano Ronaldo posted an Instagram video message to his fans.
“Hi, everyone! I just would like to thank all my fans, and tell them that I’ll be much stronger after returning [from my injury]. Thanks. Long live Portugal!” Ronaldo said in his video message.
The three-time International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Ballon d’Or winner had sustained a knee injury during Portugal’s Euro 2016 final against host nation France on July 10, and was subbed off in the 25th minute into the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return to the pitch in September.
