Euro 2016: Iceland commentator again loses voice

Icelandic commentator Gudmundur Benediktsson was again very emotional after the second goal which Iceland scored against England in Monday’s Round of 16 match at the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Euro 2016, which France is hosting.

The commentator lost his voice after Iceland’s game-winning goal by Kolbeinn Sigþórsson.

The Iceland commentator had displayed great emotion also after the second goal which his national squad had netted against Austria in their third round group stage game, and had become known.

Iceland, which have competed in the European Championship for the first time, achieved a sensational 2-1 win against England and became the last quarterfinalists.

After this match, however, Roy Hodgson resigned as England manager.

Next, Iceland will face the host nation, France, in the quarterfinals.

The other quarterfinal fixtures are: Italy vs. Germany, Wales vs. Belgium, and Poland vs. Portugal.

The Euro 2016 quarterfinals will kick off on Thursday.
