We defeated Armenia with difficulty in the first match. Portugal national football squad manager Fernando Santos stated the aforesaid speaking about the forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifier return leg between the two national teams. Armenia was defeated 0-1 in the first leg that was played in Portugal.
“The upcoming game will have the importance of a final for Armenia. They are strong and motivated. No less important is the fact that the opponents have a new coach.
“[But] I’m confident that my footballers will play very carefully, since it’s a very important game for us, too,” Desporto.sapo.pt quoted Santos as saying.
Portugal lead Group I with 9 points, whereas Armenia are in last place with 1 point.
The Armenia-Portugal match is slated for June 13 in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.
