Azerbaijani holding to buy England football club?

Gilan Holding of Azerbaijan wants to purchase Aston Villa F.C. (England), team sponsor Jonny Gould said, Azerisport reported.

Earlier it was reported that American billionaire Mark Cuban, who is the owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, planned to buy the English club, but no respective negotiations were conducted.

The shares of Aston Villa were introduced for sale last year.

Gilan Holding owns Gabala FK (Azerbaijan); this group of companies is engaged in production of construction materials, light industry, construction, hotel and restaurant business, and tourism.
