Chess news on Armenian players

YEREVAN. – Armenian Grandmaster (GM) Tigran L. Petrosian has scored 4.5 points after six rounds at the chess open that is held in Al Ain, UAE.

In addition, GMs Levon Babujian and Arman Pashikian have 4 points, each, GMs Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Hovik Hayrapetyan and (International Master) IM Manuel Petrosyan have tallied 3.5 points, apiece, WGM Maria Kursova has garnered 3 points, and WGM Lilit Galojan has amassed 2.5 points so far, Armchess reported.

The current leader of this tournament is GM Gaioz Nigalidze (Georgia), with 5.5 points.

Separately, GM Zaven Andriasian and IM Vahe Baghdasaryan have scored 2.5 points, each, after three rounds at the open that is held in Groningen, the Netherlands; they are half a point behind the current three leaders.

IMs Mher Hovhannisyan and Tigran Simonian, on the other hand, have garnered 2 points and 1 point, respectively, thus far in this competition.
