Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian will face GM Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria) in Thursday’s Round 2 at the Sinquefield Cup chess tournament which is held in Saint Louis, USA.
At present, Aronian—who is second in the World Chess Federation (FIDE) rankings and who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia—has half a point, as he played a draw with GM Hikaru Nakamura (USA) in Wednesday’s first round, whereas Topalov has no points as of yet.
All matches will get underway at 11pm Armenia time.
