Nanjing 2014: Zaven Mikaelyan becomes Olympic silver medalist

Zaven Mikaelyan (Armenia) won a silver medal after the Men’s Greco-Roman 58 kg Gold Medal match at the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games which are held in Nanjing, China.

In the final, Mikaelyan lost to Arslan Zubairov (Russia).

On his way to the final, the Armenian wrestler had defeated the representatives of the Dominican Republic, Tunisia, and Argentina.

This is Armenia’s fifth medal in Nanjing. Earlier, shooter Hrachik Babayan had become Olympic silver medalist in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle competition, Hakob Mkrtchyan (77 kg) and Simon Martirosyan (+85 kg) had won gold medals in weightlifting, and Narek Manasyan (81 kg) had become a bronze medalist in boxing.
