Team Armenia comes in 3rd

YEREVAN. – Team Armenia (GM Karen Grigoryan, GM Zaven Andriasian, FM Tigran S. Petrosyan, and WFM Maria Gevorgyan) scored 18 points out of 27 points and won the bronze medal in the 13th World University Championship of chess that was held in Katowice, Poland, Armchess reported.

Representatives of Poland (20.5 points) and Russia (18.5 points) placed first and second, respectively.

But Grigoryan captured silver medal in the men’s individual competition, whereas Andriasian and Petrosyan came in seventh and twentieth, correspondingly.

Gevorgyan, on the other hand, placed sixth in the women’s individual competition.
