22 players called to Armenia U21 squad

YEREVAN. – The Armenian U21 national football squad will play two friendlies against the Iran U22 team on August 4 and 6. To prepare for these matches, the squad will hold a training session, from July 30 to August 6, at the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) Technical Centre/Football Academy in capital city Yerevan, the FFA website reported. As the matches are friendly, and at the wish of Armenian national team manager Bernard Challandes, national squad members Rumyan Hovsepyan and Gagik Daghbashyan also will take part in these matches. Real Murcia (Spain) striker Vardan Poghosyan is called up to the team for the first time, whereas FC Zenit Saint Petersburg (Russia) midfielder Artyom Simonyan will not join the Armenian U21 this time, since August 4 and 6 are not FIFA official match days. 

Armenia U21 squad manager Abraham Khashmanyan has called 22 players to the national team.
