Paraguay children’s team carries 400 kilograms of marijuana

The Paraguay children’s football team, which was en route to Chile for a tournament, was detained on the border of the two countries.  

The squad was detained for attempting to transport 400 kilograms of marijuana, reported the Agence France-Presse news agency.  

The young footballers’ parents and the club management were deceived by an unidentified person, who had suggested forming a team to participate in the aforesaid tournament, which is held in the Chilean capital city Santiago.  

The children, however, were later released, whereas their bus driver, his assistant, and the proprietor were arrested.
