Former Italy national team member retires from professional football

Italian national football squad former defender Fabio Grosso formally announced the end of his career as a player, L’Équipe informs.  

All through his professional career, 35-year-old Grosso played for Italy’s Renato Curi, Chieti, Perugia, Palermo and Internazionale (Inter), and France’s Lyon. His last club was Juventus, where he played between 2009 and 2012.  

As part of the Azzurri, Fabio Grosso became a World Cup winner in 2006. He played for Italy 48 times, between 2003 and 2009, and scored 4 goals.
